Snow Song

Seeing what my next door neighbor had to put up with this morning made me glad, and not for the first time, that I no longer own a car.

Of course maybe my neighbor is glad that unlike me he didn't have to trudge through the snow all the way down the woodland way into downtown Northampton to catch the bus. Indeed it was so snowy that some travelers were traversing the way on skis.

Yet even trudging through the snow is not too much of a burden when you are trudging through a wonderland of winter beauty. Soon I arrived at the bus stop.

The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority buses were off schedule but soon we were all aboard and on our way across the river to UMass.

Crossing the Calvin Coolidge Bridge in a snowstorm.

Today is obviously a good day to watch this classic video of Northampton in a snowstorm. It is set to the music of "Valley Winter Song" which is probably the most popular tune ever to come out of the Northampton music scene. I dare you to watch this and not fall in love with Northampton.

Turn around is fair play.
