Kids Gone

It's been a mostly snowless, cold and dreary winter.

At last the beauty is back on the woodland way into downtown Northampton.

Spring has sprung and romance is in the air.

I took so long strolling along enjoying the woodland way that I had to take a shortcut down this alleyway to get to the bus stop on time.

At UMass the graduations are over....

And now the kids are gone.

Empty tables at Raos.

The Haymarket is a ghost cafe.

But this is only a brief interlude of serenity until the first big wave of New York City tourists hits town on Memorial Day weekend, helping to keep the scene going until September when the students return and everything kicks into high gear again.

In the window of FACES.

Now summer in the Valley can truly begin.

Tom,
Our youngest just graduated from UMass on friday. He is our second kid to graduate from there. Just a great school, and probably the best value in the country. I will miss going up to Amherst. What a great area. BTW, I didn't find this past winter bad at all. Half the time it was as nice and warm as it is now.
