Jazzy

Can you believe that scrap metal thieves dismantled and stole some of the railings on Springfield's City Hall steps?

Yet, considering what goes on inside of City Hall itself, there may as well be some thieving going on outside as well.

Springfield had its summer jazz festival this weekend, and soda-heir Jeff Ziff was there. Here he catches Hizzoner Dom Sarno working the crowd.

The legendary Valley band FAT was among the performers, although I've never thought of the beloved rockers as a jazz act.

Pretty good turnout at the Amherst Farmer's Market this weekend.

The handle to the front door of Emily Dickinson's house, which is opening to the public next week for the first time in over two years.

Has anyone noticed that the name of David Starr still appears in the masthead?

Here is a picture of my maternal grandmother in the rose garden in Springfield's Forest Park in 1930.
