This week Northampton had its annual ice festival, featuring ice sculptures all over downtown, such as this turtle outside the Hotel Northampton.

Good turnout last weekend at the Calvin for Get the Led Out, a Led Zeppelin tribute band. People keep saying that Eric Suher is closing his venues. However the Hamp impressario himself hasn't announced that and his marque performance space was definitely very much still alive and rocking this week.
The real Led Zep played in Springfield on Halloween in 1969. Springfield homeboy Taj Mahal was the backup act.
My neighbors made this gay snowperson.
This life size statue of a moose is on display in the Frost Library at Amherst College.
It mysteriously appeared in front of the library one evening almost nine years ago.
That moose was not cheaply made. It was probably donated by some mischievous millionaire Amherst alumnus.
