It was the late, great Larry Kelley who first pointed out to me that the biggest flag in the north Valley is located in the parking log of the Amherst Big Y.
Inside, the store displays this image of the late founders of Big Y, Gerry and Paul D'Amour.
As a long ago former employee of Big Y, I knew both of them. They were hard-nosed businessmen and likeable guys.
