Molding

Have you taken a close look lately at the Calvin Coolidge Memorial by the courthouse?

If Silent Cal wasn't so quiet he would definitely complain that there is a disgusting green mold growing all over him.

Is this any way to treat the only resident of the Pioneer Valley ever to be elected to the United States Presidency? It's past time for the city to give ol' Cal a cleansing chemical bath.

This week Northampton had a Bike Day celebration in Pulaski Park.

This old timey band at the Hamp Farmer's Market was pretty good, but unfortunately was politicized.

This is a musical event worth attending.

Meanwhile, a classical quartet plays a farewell tune from the library courtyard to the graduating students of UMass.

Now the summer doldrums begin, as Amherst shrinks into a sleepy cow town until September. By the time the kids get back, the reconstruction of the parking lot by the town common should be done, for better or worse.

.

This is the only presidential election  sign I've seen in Northampton so far.

Nothing yet for Biden or Trump. Northampton has always been more partial to third party candidates than other Western Mass communities, with perennial third party leftist Jill Stein having drawn large crowds to her Hamp rallies in the past. The same for Ralph Nader.
