Shame

A pro-Palestine demonstration was held yesterday afternoon at UMass. There were only around a few hundred participants out of a school of 28,000 students, but that is still an embarrassingly high turnout.

You have to admire the courage of these students who maintained a silent vigil throughout all the hateful rhetoric.

The police were monitoring the event from a distance.

Truth.

My neighbor's pumpkin.

Mushrooms on my lawn.

Like many in our Valley I am saddened by the news of the death of longtime local TV dude Sy Becker, shown below with the late former Springfield City Councilor Dan Walsh in 2022.

My sainted mother was a friend of Becker, who was widely known for his movie reviews, a role which he sometimes cleverly spoofed.

Unfortunately he didn't always get the credit he deserved as a serious journalist - but at least posthumously Springfield's Basketball Hall of Fame recognized a fellow Hall of Famer from another field.

It's understandable a crime boss like Jim McGovern doesn't like being recorded.
